This defensive war the Afghans fought in the 1870s of the last century after the British government of India invaded Afghanistan. Based almost wholly on the archival sources the book was composed essentially for promotion of the author to full professorship in the University of Kabul in 1981. The work is an objective piece of scholarship with specific and detailed description of events.
