This is a collection of the writings of Professor Kakar published between 50 to 60 years ago first in Kabul, Wazhma and Ariana journals. His articles in those journals were studiously and diligently collected, reviewed, typed and published. The articles in the volume are divided into literary, historical and social issues, and includes some translations.
Although the writings are at least over half a century old, they resonate and are relevant to currents debates about the independence of the country, the experiences of colonialism, the state and societal relationships and so forth. In this book, Professor Kakar also shares his insights about the development of language, and the virtues of simple writing. In the field of social sciences, he discusses early humans, their behaviors and intellectual development as per reputable academic sources.
