Kakar History Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization, established in 2015 to enrich the study of Afghanistan history.

Our Objective
- Enhance knowledge and understanding of Afghanistan history through research, dissemination, and publication of historical research works.
- Support public engagement with Afghanistan history and culture by organizing seminars, conferences and symposia.
- Carry on Dr. Kakar’s work by publishing and translating seminal works in historical studies.
- Collect and archive historical documents and books in partnership with other interested individuals and organizations.

Official Inauguration of Kakar History Foundation
The Foundation was inaugurated on January 5, 2019 in the presence of H.E. President Ashraf Ghani and cabinet members, members of Parliament, governors, academic figures, lecturers, scholars, civil society representatives, tribal elders, youth, and friends.

Foundation Board
The Foundation will have an Executive Secretariat, who will have administrative, financial, technical, publication and procurement responsibilities. The Foundation may, as per decision of the Advisory Board, engage researchers and other specialists.
